Meet Cynthia and Sam
I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in adult, child and family therapy for adults. Since 2007 my areas of expertise have grown to include:
- grief and loss - including pets
- anxiety
- depression
- Life changes and caretaker concerns
- self-esteem
- trauma
- managing emotions
- increasing calming skills
- substance abuse, alcohol abuse and co-occurring disorders
- I maintain a private practice in Surry, Maine
- Telehealth Distance counseling services throughout the State of Maine.
- Samson "Sam" is my well-trained, friendly Service Dog and Animal Assisted Therapy dog. He helps me to get up and down off of low chairs or the floor, physically brace me for balance while getting up and down stairs and help with picking up objects.
- Sam has a dual role as directive or non-directive animal assisted therapy dog providing support, a listening ear, and comfort during sessions.
